month: October 2008

Yeap it is that time of year again. My little one is very excited ofcourse. For those of you who do not like Halloween it may interest you to know that Halloween is actually All Saint’s Day. Anyway, just  thought I would show you my little guy. Please be safe and have a great weekend!!!

I know this is WAY off topic…AGAIN…but I just want to post something I saw on Oprah today. I know, EVERYONE watches Oprah and has probably already seen this but indulge me for a moment ok? This video is about a baby born with Trisomy 18. My son has Trisomy 13 so I KNOW all about this syndrome. I know a LOT about this, more than I want to know sometimes. My son is the OLDEST living child in the USA with his syndrome. I am so blessed. So this little blog post has a few purposes. One is take pictures anytime you can. As a professional photographer I sometimes forget to pull out the camera and capture the everyday things. Ok, so most the time I pull out the camera my boys run from me, but some how some way I always try. So don’t let the everyday moments pass by folks. I am blessed in so many ways with the talent God gave me. And I thank him everyday for letting me do something I love so much. I am there at all the most special happy times. I am there to capture the love and life and celebrations. But there are so many other things in this world that you should not let fly by. Our babies grow up so fast…it will be gone before you know it. So pull out your little disposable camera or your big ole PRO camera and take pictures people…or video….or …well you get the message.

The second thing I want is your cooperation. I want my clients to nominate someone BEYOND special. I know we are all special but you understand right? Someone little. A child or young person who has done extraordinary things with their tiny little lives. I am trying to make a point here and hope everyone understands and I do not sound like a babbling idiot. LOL. Send your emails to me at patsy@patsybrown.com and stay tuned for the “special” something.

Ok, on to the youtube video that was on Oprah today…grab a tissue.

What sweet wonderful down home people this crowd was.  I was so happy I was able to be a part of this special event.  Nicole as always was simply lovely and Nick…well you be the judge?  Isn’t he quite a handsome man? They sure did not have teachers that looked like this when I was in school.  (wink)  Stay tuned for more…

Yet another FABULOUS wedding was this weekend. Catherine and Chad were married at Cokesbury United Methodist Church on Saturday Oct 25th. What a sweet wonderful couple. I am going to go way out on a limb here and say that Catherine had to be the most UNSTRESSED bride I have ever met. She was just a dream client and such a sweet young woman. They treated me just like a guest. I always love that. And talk about a trip? Chad was just a delight. So easy going with the most precious little boy. I LOVE going to weddings where I see so many of the same people. Does that mean I get around? (wink) Chad and his sweet self surprised Catherine with going to the house she was born in for a few pictures. It was a lovely old plantation looking home in downtown Pensacola. I wish I had gotten the man’s name that owned it now so I could thank him right here. Anyway it was fabulous with yet again a amazing line up.

Me (yipee)

The ever amazing Betty Weber who just in case yall did not know makes the most DELISH cakes in the whole dang world.

Celebrations who designed some of the most beautiful arrangements I have ever seen and they smelled sooooooo good. LOL, I brought some home.

Big Sexy Food…OMG…YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!

And a band called 4-track. They had everyone dancing all night long. It was great.

And special thanks to my little friend Luker. Yall will be hearing this name again I assure you.

Ok, first off a few details…

Boy, this is going to be a tough one. I have known Lacey and her family for about 10 years now I think. You may remember Lacey’s sister Ashley and her FABULOUS husband Ed a few years back. But even before that…well it has been awhile. My tear ducks are clogged and I do not want to get them going again. (wink) This family are some of mine and my hubby’s bestest buds and we love them more than words can say. They have been with me through some pretty rough times. Both our families have shared some pretty tough times as a matter of fact but this was one of those VERY happy occasions. The wedding Friday night was just amazing. Everything I think Lacey always dreamed it would be and more. Lacey is a stunning, bright young woman and I could not be more happy for her and her handsome guy Chad. They love each other so very much and it shows. I could go on and on and on but since I have already gotten about 10 emails wondering where the sneak peak was I better get on with it right? LOL.

First off it was an amazing lineup…..the wedding took place at the beautiful First Baptist Church downtown with the ever wonderful Mary Kay Bell as our lovely hostess and the reception was at the Commerce Museum. We were shuttled all over town by the kewlest bus ever. The Nite Hound. If yall are looking for a really neat alternative to transportation, please look this guy up. I have all his information here in the office so please do give him a call.

Me!!! (insert a lot of cheers here)

Marty Stanovich as our amazing DJ. He even through in some Donny Osmond. Yea, for me. LOL

Faith with Southern Floral Traditions was as always BEAUTIFUL.

Paulette with Nouveau Catering did all the food and the cake and is always a delight to work with.

And last but surely not lease my TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY AMAZING second shooter Arielle Langhorne. www.ariellelanghorne.com I am telling yall this will be your next HOT new photographer in town. We have a lot of amazing photographers in this town as you all well know and Arielle will soon be on the list if she is not already. Thank you sister…you know I love ya. BISES!! She worked her tail off and you will see some of her amazing images in the slideshow.

Ok, enough of my boring talk. This is probably the LONGEST post I have ever made right?

I love you Lacey and Chad. More than you know.

A LOT more on this wedding soon…a long with the other two I had this weekend but for now, this image just makes me smile.  You just gotta know this wedding party….OMG, I have so much to show yall.  (wink)
